Welcome to OpenSports.com.au

We’re proud to provide a dynamic, respectful, and inclusive online community for sports enthusiasts, athletes, coaches, Groups (Clubs), and sports businesses across Australia.

To keep OpenSports a safe and empowering environment, all members agree to follow these Community Guidelines. These guidelines exist to protect our members, uphold integrity, and foster meaningful sporting connections.

1. Respect, Integrity, and Inclusion

  • Treat every member with respect, fairness, and professionalism — both online and offline.
  • Engage in constructive, sports-focused discussion. Avoid discriminatory, offensive, or inflammatory language, including hate speech or harassment.
  • Encourage diversity and inclusion across all sporting activities and communications.
  • Zero tolerance for bullying, abuse, defamation, or targeted harassment based on race, gender, ability, or belief.

2. Account Use and Security

  • Protect your account credentials and never share them with others.
  • Report any suspicious or unauthorised account activity immediately.
  • Do not impersonate another individual, organisation, or Group (Club).
  • Respect the privacy of others — do not post or share personal information, photos, or videos without explicit consent.
  • Users must comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and OpenSports’ Privacy Policy.

3. Positive Engagement and Sportsmanship

  • Contribute content that is respectful, relevant, and encourages positive sports culture.
  • Use the “Attend” feature responsibly and commit only to events or activities you genuinely intend to participate in.
  • Avoid spamming, excessive posting, or promotional content unrelated to sport or community engagement.
  • Celebrate achievements and offer constructive feedback — OpenSports is about growth, not competition between members.

4. Intellectual Property and Content Sharing

  • Only upload or share content (images, videos, text) that you own or have permission to use.
  • Respect copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property rights.
  • By posting on OpenSports, you grant OpenSports Pty Ltd a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use and display your content in accordance with the Terms & Conditions.
  • Do not use AI-generated or deepfake content that could misrepresent a person, event, or organisation.

5. Contributions and Donations

  • Donations to OpenSports are completely voluntary and non-refundable.
  • Contributions support platform improvements, community programs, and technological innovation to benefit all members.

6. Privacy, Safety, and Data Analytics

  • OpenSports respects your privacy and complies with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and Australian Privacy Principles.
  • The Platform uses Linked Data Analytics to analyse participation trends and improve services. All shared data is anonymised and non-personal.
  • Do not attempt to extract, harvest, or resell other members’ data.
  • Sharing screenshots or information from the Platform without consent may violate privacy laws.

7. Misinformation, Advertising, and AI-Generated Content

  • Do not spread false, misleading, or harmful information, particularly about individuals, sports results, or organisations.
  • Sponsored or promotional content must comply with the Australian Consumer Law and clearly disclose commercial relationships.
  • AI-generated text, images, or media must be labelled as such when posted. Misuse of AI content to impersonate or mislead others will result in suspension.

8. Safeguarding and Child Protection

  • OpenSports promotes safe participation for minors and vulnerable users.
  • Users under 18 must have parental or guardian consent to create an account.
  • Inappropriate messaging or contact with minors is strictly prohibited and will be reported to authorities.
  • Groups (Clubs) promoting junior programs must comply with relevant Working With Children Check (WWCC) requirements and applicable state legislation.

9. Conflict Resolution and Reporting

  • If you encounter harmful, offensive, or suspicious behaviour, report it immediately through the Platform or by emailing info@opensports.com.au.
